Lifecycle management

Our background onboard and in propulsion and manoeuvring OEMs allows us to bring the performance improvement and lifecycle practices of the major cruise lines into yachting. The same concepts at a different scale, and a discipline forged in the most competitive sector of the marine industry.

We work on evidence rather than on interval. Oil analysed for wear metals, ISO 4406 particle count, water, viscosity and oxidation. Vibration read in the frequency domain against bearing, gear mesh and blade pass frequencies. Alignment and bearing loads, seal leakage, slewing bearing tilt and backlash, hydraulic cleanliness.

The question that decides the budget is whether this is normal for the equipment at these running hours and this operating profile. Iron in the oil is not a finding. Iron climbing against a flat copper trend is.

With that data we determine whether contamination, misalignment, an unforeseen load case, cavitation or a maintenance practice is quietly shortening component life, and we propose the solutions that are feasible on your vessel.

We also engineer monitoring and filtration around the specific unit. Offline kidney loop filtration holds cleanliness and water content well inside the ISO 4406 code the equipment calls for, which is where bearing and seal life is won. Inline particle, moisture and temperature sensing gives you a trend between dockings instead of a sample afterwards. Longer oil life, fewer unplanned interventions, and a condition history you can take to class.
